tonight on The Meltdown, we’re going to have a good time and play a lot of great tunes as we always do. But, we’re also going to get a little serious. The issues of the day will be talked about. I also have a set of tunes that I feel kind of fit where we are right now as a nation. I’d hoped to bring listeners on, but wasn’t able to get things set up correctly, so that will have to wait for a future show. The discussion of the week’s events will occur during the second hour, after Cover Comparison. I’m opening with a 6-pack of Christian music that I feel fits where we’re at as a nation, and addresses some of what we need to do to recover and heal. The set after my monologue will be secular in nature, and come from varying points of view.
Though we’ll still play your requests, have the cover comparison, and bring you the usual new and classic tunes from all over the musical map that you’ve come to expect from Wes’s Musical Meltdown, I feel it’s my responsibility as a broadcaster to address the situation. Some of my opinions may offend some of you; some of you may agree with what I have to say. Either way, I welcome your responses, and the ones that are respectful will be shared on-air. I know it’s short notice, so keep the responses coming, and if they aren’t shared tonight, they’ll be shared on future episodes of the show. If you have things to say about the issues of the day, you may Email Me. The email can either be text, or you can send a voice memo from your phone, and I can download and play it on-air. As always, social media feedback will be shared during the show for those who Tweet or Facebook me. I welcome varying points of view, but advocating further looting, vandalism, or violence toward officers or civilians will not be tolerated.
The show starts at 7:00 PM East, 4:00 PM Pacific/Arizona time. To listen, Visit the Magic 109 Website. Alternately, you can download the free TuneIn Radio app from Google Play or the iOS App Store, and search Magic 109 in the search tab. Or, tell your Alexa or Google Home “Play Magic 109 on TuneIn”. Your requests are also welcome. Musically, anything goes.
To give you an idea of the range of artists you’ll hear tonight, I’ve got:
- Casting Crowns
- Marvin Gaye
- Bob Marley
- Luke Combs
- Maren Morris
I hope to have you tuned in and interacting tonight. Let’s continue the peaceful discussion, and let’s enjoy some good music to calm our nation.
