This week’s Meltdown was the typical mix of genres. In addition to our usual mix of rock, country, Christian, pop, and whatever else the listeners request, we paid tribute to the late Walter Becker with a six-pack of Steely Dan. Hey, it’s just about as good as a six-pack of Yuengling, right?
Also, we brought you a new band, Falling Into Red. Check them out on Facebook and Twitter. Their two singles were well-received by the DJ’s and listeners alike, and Amy from the band paid us a visit in the chat room. You will definitely be hearing more of this band from our other DJ’s, as well as in the automated rotation on XTFM.
In addition to bringing you some relatively new talent, we also had new material from Delbert McClinton, The Steel Woods, and newly discovered Stoney LaRue. We closed out the night with a brief commentary, thanks to something Gina said in the chat room, on the Building 429 song “Where I Belong”.
Cover Comparison saw Garth Brooks going up against All That Remains. The results may surprise you; they sure surprised me.
