Episode 009: Generations with Megan & Rebekah for 10/10/2017: Halloween, Sound Effects Theatre, and More!

The ladies of Generations made their triumphant return to the XTFM airwaves last night after an unplanned week off. Megan & Rebekah played an awesome mix of music, took requests, and brought us another stellar edition of Sound Effects Theatre, the amusing new segment of the show. WWe also heard the new Maren Morris/Vince Gill track, and Megan touched briefly on last week’s events in Las Vegas. As it’s October, there were plenty of spooky, Halloween-themed tunes in the mix.

Listen and enjoy. Catch them live on XTFM every Tuesday night at 7:00 PM East! Listen through the website, or on your favorite mobile device via TuneIn Radio or OoTunes.

Wes’s Musical Meltdown for October 08, 2017: Back After Unplanned Hiatus

This week, the Meltdown returned after an unintended two-week hiatus. Between illness and hard drive failure, I was sidelined. Tonight almost didn’t happen thanks to issues with Spectrum Internet tanking right as the show was about to begin. Thankfully, the equipment was slapped into submission and the show went on.

Of course, we played some Tom Petty in honor of his untimely passing. We also briefly touched on the tragedy in Vegas last weekend. We also brought you lots of new music from Walker McGuire, Ashley McBryde, Midland, UFO, Nothing More, and many more.

Tonight’s Cover Comparison saw a one-hit wonder go up against one of the original death/black metal bands. As always, your requests were played as well. Listen until the end to hear a funny story from the weekend as it relates to my childhood.

Catch the show live most Sundays at 7:00 PM East. on XTFM, and check out our other great DJ’s as well!

Wes’s Musical Meltdown for 04/23/2017

This week’s edition of Wes’s Musical Meltdown definitely had some NSFW moments and lived up to the disclaimer we play at the beginning of each show. Don’t worry; most of the show is family friendly…Just that last 45 minutes or so where we went a little off-color. Good stuff though, I promise.

In addition to the usual mix of music, our cover comparison for the week featured Tim McGraw up against Aaron Lewis, performing a Chris Stapleton song. In addition, we played the first two songs to be released from Chris’s upcoming release, due out May 5. During the voting for Cover Comparison, my fiancee, Megan, made an unplanned guest appearance. I hadn’t realized she was in the room, and as I thought her comments to me on the two versions of the track were excellent, I put her on the spot and had her share them on-air. We also had a brief set in rememberance of the late J. Geils.

Due to a family get-away, there will bbe no show next Sunday night as I’m not sure I’ll have the energy/motivation to put it together once we’re back home. We’ll see you again on May 7, at 7:00 PM East on XTFM or on the podcast!
