Wes’s Musical Meltdown for 09/10/2017

This week’s edition of the Meltdown started out with a tribute set for three members of the music community lost during the week. We paid tribute to Dave Hlubeck of Molly Hatchet, Troy Gentry of Montgomery-Gentry, and country legend Don Williams.

Cover Comparison had Public Enemy going up against Anthrax. We had new music from Toby Keith, Kip Moore, Dustin Lynch, Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton, The Cadillac Three, Queens of The Stone Age, Our Lady Peace, and Sister Hazel. As always, we had a good supply of requests.

Catch the show live every Sunday night at 7:00 PM East on XTFM.

Wes’s Musical Meltdown for 08/14/2016: Returning After Hiatus, Breaking In New Studios

Last night was the official return of the Meltdown to XTFM after a 5-month unplanned hiatus due to hard drive failure. We’re still not 100% back musically, but it was still a good show nonetheless. It was also my first show from the new West Columbus studios. You’ll find much less echo than you’ve possibly heard since I moved to Ohio last August.

We played some great music, talked a bit about music news, politics, and other current events, and had a good time. Thanks to those who promoted, interaccted in chat, and made requests.

The new timeslot for Wes’s Musical Meltdown is Sunday Nights, 10:00 PM East. Next Sunday, we’ll have a special tribute to the late Merle Haggard. We lost this country icon on April 6, and I would’ve done this then…But, as I had no music, it had to wait until I made my return. If you have favorite Merle tracks you want played, feel free to use the various ccontact methods on the page to get in touch and let me know.

Below, you’ll find the playlist for this show as well as the download/streaming links. Enjoy!!

Wes’s Musical Meltdown for 12/29/2015: The Year In Music!

The final Meltdown of 2015 on XTFM was a 7-and-a-half-hour marathon, boasting 106 of the songs that rocked our musical world in 2015. It was country, rock, metal, pop, hip-hop, Christian Contemporary, and even one awful song that took the country by storm in the form of a dance craze. Hoping you all enjoy this one. Feel free to leave your comments about the show, the playlist, or songs I should have added or even skipped.

It was an excellent year in music, in which we discovered many new bands, and old favorites returned with their first new material in several years. We even got to showccase a track from a new artist. Hey, I heard about him on Christmas, so it still qualifies for my best of 2015. Everyone needs to check out Dean Ray and watch for this guy to break out in a huge way in 2016. Thanks to several of HIS fans for joining the program and interacting last night.

Don’t forget to join me Saturdays at 1:00 PM East on The VIP Lounge. You can find us on the TuneIn Radio app by searching The VIP Lounge as well. We return to our normal time of 9:00 PM East next Tuesday, January 5, on XTFM.

Of course, if you enjoy what you read and hear, and if you’d like to make some Amazon purchases through me, it’s greatly appreciated.
