Wes’s Musical Meltdown for 06/25/2017

This week’s edition of The Meltdown was full of good music, a cover comparison, and plenty of requests. No hot-button issues discussed this week, other than making fun of the upstairs neighbor for dropping his “cigar” on our balcony furniture.

In addition to old favorites and requests, we had new music from Nicckelback, The Nixons, Luke Combs, Jon Pardi, Lady Antebellum, Kane Brown, and Trent Tomlinson.

Cover Comparison found Alice Cooper’s Is It My Body going up against the Sonic Youth cover. Tune in to find out who won.

As always, join us Sunday nights at 7:00 PM East to hear the show live on XTFM, or find us on TuneInRadio or the OoTunes app.

Wes’s Musical Meltdown for 06/11/2017: Wonder Woman, Karaoke at Zuey’s, and More!

Tonight’s Meltdown on XTFM Was lots of fun. We had a great mix of music, the Cover Comparison, and a few in-studio guests. We had Bekah and Megan on to talk about the new Wonder Woman movie, in theaters now. And Guy from downstairs came up to check out the studios while his dad, Gary, hung out in our studio audience on the balcony. Yes, we’re moving up in the world.

There’s also a brief discussion about our Friday night at Zuey’s, and a set paying tribute to the songs we did for Karaoke.

If YOU want to be part of the studio audience, just…Be friends and/or neighbors with me, my girl, or my stepdaughter. But seriously, it was lots of fun. Some technical hiccups…Like the microphone not activating after Cover Comparison…And some background noise from the party happening outside the studio. And, have no fear. The DJ got food and drink after the show. Enjoy! We’ll be back in two weeks. Taking next week off for Fathers’ Day.

Wes’s Musical Meltdown for 04/23/2017

This week’s edition of Wes’s Musical Meltdown definitely had some NSFW moments and lived up to the disclaimer we play at the beginning of each show. Don’t worry; most of the show is family friendly…Just that last 45 minutes or so where we went a little off-color. Good stuff though, I promise.

In addition to the usual mix of music, our cover comparison for the week featured Tim McGraw up against Aaron Lewis, performing a Chris Stapleton song. In addition, we played the first two songs to be released from Chris’s upcoming release, due out May 5. During the voting for Cover Comparison, my fiancee, Megan, made an unplanned guest appearance. I hadn’t realized she was in the room, and as I thought her comments to me on the two versions of the track were excellent, I put her on the spot and had her share them on-air. We also had a brief set in rememberance of the late J. Geils.

Due to a family get-away, there will bbe no show next Sunday night as I’m not sure I’ll have the energy/motivation to put it together once we’re back home. We’ll see you again on May 7, at 7:00 PM East on XTFM or on the podcast!

Wes’s Musical Meltdown 09/01/2015: Show Recap, Playlist, and Download

This edition of the meltdown was action-packed. Once again, we had Megan Mason as our co-host. Thanks to the new listeners who tuned in; it was a pleasure having all of you tuned in and in the chat room. Thanks, as always, to returning listeners who interacted with the show as well.

I’m happy to announce that The request page is back up and running!

In addition to wonderful music on the program, including our cover comparison, we also had a lively discussion regarding the issue of transgender students and which bathroom should be used while at school. This WHIO story sparked the discussion.

Wes’s Musical Meltdown for August 25, 2015: Show Recap, Playlist, and Download

The August 25 edition of The Meltdown was the first from my new home in Springfield, Ohio. You’ll notice a difference in the sound of the show’s acoustics during voice breaks as the room I’m broadcasting in is all wood, no carpets.

In addition to a change of venue, we also introduced a new co-host. Making her XTFM debut, it’s Megan Mason. She does well for her first time doing radio. She even brought us a fun discussion topic for one of our voice breaks. Check out The Museum Of Death. Sounds like a fascinating place to visit.

We had new music from Buckcherry, Shinedown, Lamb of God, Kip Moore, and many others, in addition to several listener requests. This week’s Cover Comparison was the classic “Always On My Mind”, as done by Willie Nelson and the Pet Shop boys.
