Wes’s Musical Meltdown for 03/12/2019: New tunes, Requests, Classic Metal, and More

On this week’s Meltdown, we had the return of Cover Comparison, and new music from a band that had a few hits 30 years ago, but hasn’t done much since. Of course, I had to get in a set of Irish drinking tunes for Saint Patrick’s Day. I may not drink anymore, but there’s nothing wrong with singing about it. We also had new stuff from Maren Morris, Buckcherry, Ryan Robinette, and many more. Apparently, I also scared a listener a little bit during my introduction of the metal set, starting with Suicidal Tendencies. Not my intent. My favorite part of the show was the closing, getting to play two tracks from a legendary Christian hard rock band whose stuff I used to own on cassette, but hadn’t found digitally until recently. We had the usual mix of requests, new music, and whatever else came to my mind to play. After this, episodes should stay more current.

Of course, catch the show live at 8:00 PM East on Tuesday nights on on XTFM and you can also get podcasts on Mixcloud. Lots of ways to hear the show and see what we’ve played.
